 Risk of Heart Disease
Children who have suffered ill-treatment such as harassment, lack of parental attention, or families who are not in harmony, not only will affect the children psychologically, but also increases the risk of heart disease later in adulthood.

How can someone who has a bad childhood experience can be at risk of heart attack? The experts tried to find a relationship between the problem and it seems this is due to psychological factors rather than the traditional factors such as obesity, poor diet, lack of exercise and so forth.

The study of 17 337 adults, from 1995 -1997, by doing a search on childhood experiences and health behaviors from adolescence to adulthood. Result, the risk of heart disease increased 1.7-fold in those who experienced abuse and crime in early childhood and 1.3 times as much to those who ignored and neglected in the family. Parents who split turned out to be the only unfavorable childhood experiences that do not increase heart disease risio.

The more bad experiences in childhood, it will be the greater risk of heart disease will face as adults. If someone has seven or more bad experiences in childhood then the risk increased nearly four-fold compared with those who do not have a bad experience at all.

In general, psychological factors play a bigger role than the traditional factors, except for the factor of obesity. Because almost all the traditional factors do not increase heart disease risk exponentially.
